Like they say when you start running within each day you get better and better. Why I stopped I never know, work, other commitments, holidays and Christmas, don’t know but one thins is for sure I am always 100% committed when I take on exercise and I am motivated, I wont stop until I get results and always aim to be better then the last time.
I am hoping my speed will increase and my miles to, watch this space.
I cried for the first time in ages today. I always feel better after a cry. I have not blogged in so long and I have bottled so much in for years now since I last used to blog so today I finally broke. For years now I have have had a constant battle with food, binge eating which was led on from depression and anxiety for the insecurities I hide. Despite being up and down like a yo yo all my life again last year Christmas ruined me and now I am back into the fitness, running every single morning at 5.00am before work, doing weights, lunges, sit ups and press ups all for that dream body and because of how energetic, happy ad refreshed it makes me feel. I love running and gyms are something I have never liked which is why I love the great outdoors so much and resort to running every morning.
I went up to a size 16 before Christmas and I am now at a size 12-14. The only issue I have it my calves, something I had had a problem with my whole life. I cant even remember the last time i wore a skirt, I feel like life is not worth this stress, I ask myself why can I just not be normal like everyone else, like all my friends, wear skirts, dresses, shorts, go swimming etc etc, but I cant do any of those things. I’ve lost count of how many sites I have been do for advice and they all tell me the same thing, running which is why I have always done it. I know I am not the only one with this problem as this is a very common subject which I noticed from searching the web for advice. I am not after the perfect body, I actually love my figure but anyone who has the same problem as me knows there is no life if who have to constantly wake up every day thinking about this, even wearing skinny jeans and boots is an issue.
The reason I cried today is because I went shopping, a girl with big calves worst night mare, and as per no jeans would fit me, as soon as I got home I remembered the image in the dressing room mirror of my disgusting legs, I have never hated myself so much, I know its terrible to talk like this however I have had this problem since I was 15 and I am now 29. I have a habit of constantly buying trousers, maxi dresses and skirts because you cannot see the horrible bulge of my calves. Now without disrespecting anyone not all large calves are bad, I have seen many curvy curves with large beautiful calves but unfortunately mine are humongous, not normal for my size and I don’t know what to do other than to keep at the running, have patience and try and stay positive.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone that has this problem who has actually tried a few things that have worked. I plan to keep up with my running and dieting and will update of the results.
So finally got back into the jogging after months off and I am very pleased that I still managed to keep up the pace even if it did take me over an hour, I’ve still got it, I forgot how great it feels, if you don’t jog then you really need to start, wind in your hair, motivational music in your ears and the perfect stress relief.
So there are a lot of diet crazes out there, I have tried every singe one and have always lost weight on them all, from Weight Watchers, Slim Fast, Atkins etc etc and now I have come across a new one which I have just discovered even though it has apparently been around for a while now and one of the toughest ones I think I have heard of. It is called the Mono Diet.
The Mono diet is basically where you choose one type of food only and exclude everything else, you eat that one type of food per meal every day and this can last from 1 to 40 days or more. This can be fruit, vegetables and some people have been known to use chocolate or rice etc, chocolate would just be a terrible choice not only because it is very unhealthy but also because it could become very sickly, however other choices such as fruit and vegetables doesn’t seem so bad so I dug a little bit deeper and did some extra research and found some interesting results.
By only eating the same type of food per meal daily means that you are paying more attention to the chewing and the taste of what you are eating, your body will clearly let you know when it is no longer hungry and when it is time to stop eating, and it will do this by causing your taste buds to shift in a way that will cause the foods that you are eating to become tasteless and unappealing, making it almost impossible to overeat or binge whilst appreciating the type of mono food you have chosen to eat through out the day, you become satisfied with the food you are eating as your body becomes used to the same type of food intake daily and you yourself will get used to the routine you have chosen and you and your body will not require anything else. Not only will you be cleansed but you should start feeling a lot better about yourself and the fact that cravings for other food types have gone.
Mono Meals can also help with weight loss because it helps support proper digestion so goodbye to bloating, optimal nutrient absorption, and better assimilation. All of which result in a more nourished body with more energy, a flat belly and less cravings! Mono meals can also help end the cycle of emotional eating which is usually triggered by addictive or stimulating foods & spices and plays a huge role in weight gain which I have a huge problem with, if I binge its usually because I’m emotional so all this sounds good so far, I have not yet found any negatives regarding this diet except if you are one that gets bred very quickly then this is certainly not for you, as for me I always try my hardest to stick at diets as I need to know the results and to see how my body takes t it which I plan to find out with this one.
So what types of foods can you do in this diet. There are a few:
I think you get the idea, you can pick from many thing, the only rule is you stick to this per meal daily up to 40 days or more. So my challenge starts tomorrow and in a week from tomorrow I will do my weigh in and find just just how much I have lost, people on this diet have know to lost a pound a day. So as from tomorrow I will start this using apples and oranges, that’s right you can have two types of food just as long as you are having it per meal. In a weeks time I will update n the results and how I got on, wish me luck.
My newest and latest purchase, a fitness watch and I didn’t have to pay a lot for it either, who needs to spend a fortune when you have sites like Ebay and Amazon. Any way this gadget here is a god send, not only does it track your every move (even when sleeping) but it will count the steps, calories and miles done each day. I have always wondered just how much calories I am actually burning on a normal average day at home or work and roughly I have been burning over 1000 calories whilst being at work, due to my role involving moving up and down all day but there have been times when I am sat down all day behind a desk so I wouldn’t burn as much but this is great for knowing exactly what your burning on a normal day as well as when exercising.
Not only that but there is an app for this fitness watch, I have downloaded the app on my pc (also available on some phone) and this enables me to enter in my details such as my name, age, height and weight and gender, it lets you look back at your steps, calories burned, sleeping pattern and it also has an alarm that can wake you up in the morning. What I also love about these fitness watches is that when you have reached a high amount such as 10,000 steps the watch will vibrate to inform you that you have gone up to a certain level and it will also do the same when you have gone beyond that and broke a new record.
Before this I was always using my mobile phone app to track calories when I was exercising but obviously I can’t use that 24/7 to track my calories at work so that is why a fitness watch like this is so perfect, you can wear it all the time and compete with your score from the day before. You don’t have to even wear it every day, maybe when your exercising or going for a walk, but if your anything like me and like to keep track and count then get this watch which comes in different sizes and colours and give it a go.
